Description
This position will be responsible for performing research in a molecular laboratory as well as leading and spearheading current projects. These projects include a glioblastoma cell culture drug screen study, as well as ongoing initiatives on mitochondrial DNA and circular RNA analyses. Current projects encompass both hypothesis- or discovery-driven approaches to both optimize procedures and make genomic discoveries that may be translated to improve patient care and outcomes. This position will also be responsible for publishing manuscripts, giving research presentations, and contributing to grant applications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform wet lab experiments and participate in experimental design. Perform research on existing methods, and optimize/implement/troubleshoot assays.

Collaborate with other divisions/groups (inside or outside TGen) to perform and accelerate research.

Make presentations at conferences. Provide support for grant submissions (e.g. generation of preliminary data, participate in writing as needed).

Skills
Ph.D. in related field of research.

Strong background in science. Requires a doctoral degree in a related area (molecular biology, genomics) and must be a self-starter. Excellent communication skills, the ability to read and write scientifically, excellent organization and record-keeping skills, and critical thinking skills are needed. Requires significant cell culture experience, and familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Must have experience in molecular, cellular, and/or genomics assays and must be comfortable using Microsoft Office products.
